Recent form - A dogs overall performance
in its last few races. Can be either POSITIVE , NEGATIVE
or NEUTRAL
Relative grade –
The grade that matches the local grade to the shippers
grade
Reruns – A greyhound race can
be declared void by the stewards, who may request that
it be rerun at the end of the meeting. If the race is
rerun with fewer runners, bets on the withdrawn dogs
are void, and the stakes are returned. All other bets
stand as if the race were run as normal, except where
a show price has been taken, in which case winning bets
are paid out at starting prices.
Reserves – Unlike in horse racing,
the places of withdrawn dogs are usually taken by reserves
(so long as the dog withdraws before the meeting).
Result – The outcome of a race.
Return – The sum you get back
from a winning bet, which includes the winnings plus
your original stake.
Reverse forecast – A bet where
you combine two permutations, (A and B) into two combination
bets (AB, BA). This bet requires two stakes but wins
if the two selections come home in any order.
Rigged betting – Betting where
the odds have been artificially manipulated in order
to make an unfair gain.
Ring - The place where the bookmakers
trade from.
Roll-up – An accumulator bet.
Ruin – A technical term referring
to the loss of a given capital set aside for gambling.

that make up a dogs performance ability
